Live on SS1: Thu 17.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s US Open and tells us his picks at Olympic. Selections.
Tiger Woods heads the market at 15/2 (Sportingbet) for this weeks US Open and it is worth backing him to cover all investments this week but on a par 70 tight course he is far from nap material.
Justin Rose at 33/1 with Betfred looks the best chance and value for a European Winner. This is a course which will suit Rose really well and he is also decent value at 9/1 via Skybet in the top European Market.
I really like the chances this week of Zach Johnson who is a great price at 50/1 with bet365. Johnson, a previous Masters Champ, is over the odds this week and should definitely be considered at 1/4 odds each for the first 7 places at BetVictor. Jason Dufner is the American I like at 30/1 with Paddy Power while Freddie Jacobsen is a big price at 50/1 in the Top European Market with Skybet.
It would not suprise me to see a total shock this week like when Scott Simpson won the last time the US Open was held at Olympic Club in San Francisco. My two rank outsiders who look overpriced at 200/1 (Ladbrokes) are South African Branden Grace in his first US Open and Spencer Levin who is playing better than the odds suggests
Good luck
Angus Loughran
