Ronnie O’Sullivan is now the 2/1 favourite with Stan James to win the World Snooker Championship after Judd Trump’s shock exit.
Ali Carter, an 80/1 shot pre-tournament, came back from 12-9 down to defeat last year’s runner-up and Carter has been cut to 15/2 to emerge triumphant at the Crucible while 2010 champion Neil Robertson is 3/1.
The Australian faces O’Sullivan in a mouth watering quarter final showdown after the latter knocked out Mark Williams.
Stephen Maguire is 4/1 via Stan James to lift the trophy but he faces a tough battle in the last eight against fellow Scot Stephen Hendry.
Rory Jiwani of Stan James said, “The shocks just keep on coming at the Crucible with Ali Carter producing a sensational comeback against Judd Trump to reach the quarter-finals. Carter was 80/1 at the start of the tournament but is now 15/2 to win his first world title. ”
