Live on Sky Sports 1: Sat 12.30: MK Dons are favourites at 13/10 (Coral) ahead of the League One play-off showdown with Huddersfield.
Both MK Dons and Huddersfield suffered play-off disappointment at the hands of Peterborough last season and the pair will be desperate to make amends by securing promotion to the Championship this time around.
The two were separated by a solitary point in the final League One standings and so it’s perhaps not surprising that bookies aren’t entirely sure who will reach the play-off final.
Betfred make the Terriers 10/11 to book their place at Wembley and that’s also the price Ladbrokes post against MK Dons, who enjoy home advantage in the semi-final first leg.
That clash is 13/10 via Coral to go the way of the hosts and that’s a price worth considering given the fact that the visitors, Boylesports’ 12/5 outsiders, only managed seven away wins all season.
Of course most of their fixtures on the road ended in stalemate so BetVictor’s 12/5 for that to be the case here will be well backed but the Dons ended the campaign with four victories from their last five, they managed to win the first leg at home at this stage a year ago and they could have the edge in this one.
Nevertheless, all of the evidence points to a tight affair and those punters looking to side with hosts might therefore want to consider Ladbrokes’ 10/3 for Karl Robinson’s troops to nick it by a one-goal margin, leaving things finely balanced for the second leg.
