Sat 15:00: Sheffield Wednesday are 1/4 with Boylesports to secure promotion from League One by beating relegated Wycombe.
The League One promotion battle between the two Sheffield clubs has gone right to the wire but after last week’s results, it’s Wednesday that are in pole position to clinch second spot given that they’re a point ahead and face a home clash against demoralised Wycombe on the season’s final day.
The Owls are just 1/4 with Boylesports at best and as the Chairboys were relegated last weekend it’s hard to see them putting up much resistance at Hillsborough.
For their part Sheffield United, at 6/10 via William Hill should at least pick up three points of their own at Exeter and ensure their neighbours need to win but it won’t be enough for the Blades who will have to try and gain promotion via the play-offs.
Looking to meet them there are Stevenage and Notts County and both can pick up victories this weekend. As Borough are currently sixth, they’re the side most likely to secure that last play-off postion and they’re 8/15 courtesy of Coral to send Bury home empty-handed.
Notts County can nevertheless force Borough’s hand and they’re 4/6 (Ladbrokes) to keep up their side of the bargain by beating Colchester at Meadow Lane.
