Manchester City are now Ladbrokes’ 1/2 favourites for the Premier League title after the derby victory over Manchester United.
Vincent Kompany’s header was enough to give Roberto Mancini’s men a vital victory at the Etihad Stadium and nudge them ahead of their rivals on goal difference at the table’s summit.
With only two matches remaining, the champions are now out to 2/1 with BetVictor to retain their crown but bookies aren’t ruling out more drama according to Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Donohue, who said: “”The script now says City win the title on goal difference. The odds still suggest there could be one final twist however.”
Mancini’s charges have a significant advantage in terms of goal difference and Ladbrokes offer even money for that to be what clinches top spot while United’s ‘noisy neighbours’ are BetVictor’s 7/4 favourites to be crowned champions next season and Sir Alex Ferguson’s troops are 9/4 via Stan James.
