Bonfire, trained by Andrew Balding, is the 9/4 favourite with William Hill to win the Dante Stakes at York.
The 8/1 second favourite for the Derby heads the Dante betting in front of Godolphin’s Mandaean at 5/2, 4/1 shot Ernest Hemingway from Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle stable and the Roger Varian-trained Ektihaam, a 9-2 chance at Hills and the winner is sure to be cut in the Derby market.
William Hill’s Lucy Rhodes told Betrescue, “Although he swerved his Chester assignment, Bonfire looks all set to light up the Knavesmire, with punters making him the biggest threat to the hot Derby favourite Camelot”
