Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday, from Ballinrobe; Distant Memories, 2/1, in the 17.25 Compare odds and bet
With a couple of domestic meetings subject to morning inspections, it’s off to Ireland for the day’s sole selection, which comes in the Treacy’s Pharmacy Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
The eight-runner contest is a decent event by the track’s standards and can go the way of the classy ex-Flat performer Distant Memories (5:25) who looked a smart recruit to hurdling when making a winning debut at Limerick over Christmas.
Third in a competitive four runner affair at Naas the following month, the son of Falbrav went on to contest the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle last time and, though he only finished eighth, he travelled well for a long way without ever really looking like landing a blow.
I suspect Andrew Lynch will ride him a bit handier today and the one-time Group 3 winner on the level can show his pace on this sharper track. The selection opened up at 2/1 with Boylesports on Monday evening.
Tuesday’s selection:
5:25 Ballinrobe: Distant Memories (2/1 Boylesports)
