Weird Al has been cut to 12/1, from 14’s, in the Cheltenham Gold Cup by Betfred after continued support for the gelding.
Weird Al has won two of three starts at the venue with his only defeat in last year’s Gold Cup. Long Run is 13/8 fav with Kauto Star next at 4/1.
“Weird Al is still proving a popular each-way pick for the Gold Cup despite his price almost halving over the past month and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him go off a single-figure price,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Salut Flo is now the 6/1 outright favourite for the Byrne Group Plate after being trimmed from 7/1 by Betfred this afternoon. There has also been money for Salsify in the Christies Foxhunters and the Irish challenger is now 13/2 (from 7/1).
