Nicky Henderson is now the 8/15 fav with Coral to win the National Hunt trainers’ championship following seven winners at Cheltenham.
Paul Nicholls is eased to 11/8 after a week that saw Champion and World Hurdle wins for his team but disappointment came for the current title holder as Kauto Star pulled up.
“A magnificent seven Festival winners for the man from Seven Barrows has put him in pole position for the trainers’ championship in our book, although Paul Nicholls enjoyed his own big race double at Cheltenham to end the week narrowly in front in the title race,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“There is plenty of prize money up for grabs before the season ends, in particular at Aintree next month, but Nicky Henderson appears to have the greater strength in depth just now and is favoured to take the crown from Ditcheat,” added Stevens.
