Eton Forever heads the betting at 6/1 with race sponsors William Hill ahead of the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster.
In the early betting for the famous flat season curtain-raiser, Doncaster’s Lincoln Handicap, Eton Forever is William Hill’s 6/1 favourite in what looks a wide-open renewal.
Winner of the William Hill Spring Mile, the Lincoln consolation race, a year ago, the Roger Varian-trained five year-old has been well backed for some time, staying prominent in the antepost market for the main event on this occasion.
Fury follows in the betting at 7-1, ahead of the James Fanshawe’s charge Primeaval at 11-1. Next up is 12/1 shot, Marco Botti’s Cocozza, making his first appearance since leaving John Oxx, and also at 12-1 are Godolphin’s Start Right and Edinburgh Knight.
“The front two saw the best of the early money in the run-up,” said William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes, “but attentions turned to Cheveley contender Fury this morning with punters itching to get their talons into the new season”
