Coral have slashed Cocozza into 11/1 (from 14/1) for Saturday’s William Hill Lincoln following a sizeable gamble on Tuesday.
Cocozza will be making his first start for Marco Botti having switched from the yard of John Oxx over the winter.
“We were suddenly inundated with a stream of chunky bets for Cocozza this afternoon which forced us to take the scissors to his price. Cocozza has some decent form in Ireland including a close-up fifth in a Group 2 so looks a genuine contender for the Flat season curtain-raiser”, said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
In the Champion Hurdle, Spirit Son, of Nicky Henderson training, has been clipped to 8/1 from 12’s after a few chunky bets on Tuesday.
“A couple of our sharpest clients came on today to back Spirit Son for next year’s Champion Hurdle this afternoon and given he beat Rock On Ruby easily at Aintree last year we decided to go under the market price on the horse for now”, added Clare.
