St Mirren are without a victory against Scottish Premier League opposition since they edged out Rangers 2-1 on Christmas Eve and although that sequence includes plenty of draws, as well as cup wins against Hamilton and Ross County, the Buddies could be up against it as they face Hearts in a quarter final replay at Greenhill Road.
Bookies are struggling to separate the pair, perhaps understandably, but following their Edinburgh derby success on Sunday, added to a triumph at Rangers earlier in the month, the Jambos head to Paisley on a high and they’re the value call at 13/8 with Ladbrokes.
The Buddies are the SPL’s lowest scorers, having found the net just 26 times in 30 league matches and that record lends appeal to Paddy Power’s 7/2 for Hearts to combine victory with a clean sheet.
More specifically, Stan James quote 7/1 for the Jambos to fire the only goal while in attack the man to follow is Craig Beattie.
