In tomorrow’s Arkle, Sprinter Scare is Stan James’ 5/6 market leader against just five rivals in the two-mile novice chase crown.
Rory Jiwani of StanJames.com says, “Sprinter Sacre is the one to beat and he’s clearly scared off connections of other horses. Barry Geraghty has compared him to the great Moscow Flyer and he’s justifiably odds-on.
“Al Ferof and Cue Card would appear to be his main challengers with the latter set to test the field with a searching gallop. Menorah could go close with a clear round of jumping while Irish raiders Blackstairmountain and Foildubh will need to show considerable improvement to get in the mix.
“Nineteen line up for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle with Darlan the 4/1 market leader despite falling last time out in the Betfair Hurdle. Jessie Harrington’s 6/1 second favourite Steps To Freedom is our biggest loser in the book with Montbazon now 7/1 after Alan King’s upbeat bulletin on the well-being of his charge.
“Quevega is an unsurprisingly hot favourite to win the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle for the fourth time. She has 19 rivals to face but we go 1/2 about Willie Mullins’ star with Our Girl Salley, Kentford Grey Lady and Swincombe Flame sharing second favouritism at 12/1.”
