Live on SS3: Thu 19.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational in Bay Hill, Florida. Angus’ Selections.
With Bay Hill in Orlando just 4 hours behind the UK this week, get set for an earlier than normal finish on Sunday night in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Having walked the course, it is dry with plenty of run and scoring should be good this week. Tiger Woods heads the market at 8/1 with BetVictor on a course he has so much joy on and it is only his putting that is currently wrong with his game. Having followed him closely on Monday and Tuesday at the Tavistock Cup in Lake Nona, he has recovered from his injury that forced him to pull out at Doral on the 12th hole in the final round last Sunday in Miami. He has to be included in this weeks portfolio at 8/1 in his final public outing before Augusta.
Ernie Els should have won last week’s Transitions in Tampa and needs a big week just to get into The Masters. He is playing some great golf at present and looks a great each way bet at 50/1, courtesy of Coral.
Graeme McDowell, whom I walked round with at Tavistock and on Wednesday at Bay Hill, is also finding his form and goes well at Bay Hill and is my main selection at 40/1 each way (Skybet) – the genial Northern Irishman has a far better chance than those odds suggest and should give backers a great run for their money this week.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
