Live on Skysports 1: Fri 20.00: The new Super League season sees Widnes play Wakefield on Friday; St Helens are 7/2 to win the league.
The new Super League campaign gets under way on Friday and bookies think four teams are in with a shout of Grand Final glory. Defending champions Leeds are 6/1 with Stan James to retain the trophy, Blue Square have installed Wigan as 11/4 favourites while Warrington and St Helens are chalked up by Skybet and BetVictor respectively at 3/1 and 4/1.
In the regular season betting however, Warrington are just 5/2 (Ladbrokes), Wigan come next at 3/1 with Betfred but the best bet is arguably Boylesports’ 7/2 for Saints to top the pile. They should respond well to moving to a new stadium and their exciting crop of youngsters now have a little more experience.
