Betfred have cut Quel Esprit into 14/1 (from 20’s) for the Cheltenham Gold Cup following a win in the Hennessy Gold Cup
That win gave Willie Mullins his eighth Hennessy success.
“Quel Esprit’s Hennessy victory is unlikely to give the connections of Long Run and Kauto Star any sleepless nights but he deserves to have a crack at the Gold Cup and it’s not inconceivable that he could run into a place,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Long Run has also been cut for Gold Cup glory and now heads Betfred’s market at 2/1 having started the day at 9/4. Kauto Star is the 7/2 second-favourite with novice Grands Crus a 7/1 shot.
