Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday at Leopardstown, Hurricane Fly (8/15), 2:30 and Make Your Mark (7/4), 3:05 Compare odds.
All eyes will be on Leopardstown on Sunday and the return of Hurricane Fly (2:30) who cannot be opposed in the Irish Champion Hurdle.
Willie Mullins’s eight-year-old hasn’t been seen since winning impressively at Punchestown in May, but he goes well fresh and he can repeat last year’s success before trying to retain his crown at Cheltenham in March.
Available at 8/15 (Blue Square), it will be hugely disappointing if he doesn’t make a successful reappearance and, in doing so, consolidating his position as Champion Hurdle favourite.
Mullins also holds a strong hand in the Grade 2 Synergy Security Solutions Novice Hurdle, which looks a very good contest. The County Carlow handler saddles both Boston Bob and Make Your Mark (3:05) with preference for the latter, who receives 10lb from his Grade 1 winning stable-mate.
A course-and-distance winner on his hurdles debut over Christmas, the son of Beneficial had previously won a point-to-point in April and a Punchestown bumper in November.
The five-year-old looks a high-class prospect and confirm the promise he has shown by taking this, one of the warmest novice hurdles run either side of the Irish Sea so far this season.
Sunday’s selections:
2:30 Leopardstown Hurricane Fly (8/15)
3:05 Leopardstown Make Your Mark (7/4)
