Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Realt Mor in the 13.10 (Sedg) and Persian Snow in 15.30 (Ludl). Compare odds.
After an impressive rules debut in an Ascot bumper in October 2010 Persian Snow (3:30) looked to have a really big future ahead of him and, though he failed to build on that in two more runs in that sphere last season, the six-year-old should return to winning ways in the Ludlow Members Club Room Maiden Hurdle this afternoon.
Philip Hobbs’s son of Anshan finished behind the promising Mono Man back at Ascot at February, before failing to land a blow in the Grade 2 at Aintree’s Grand National meeting.
A faller when clear on his sole start in Irish points, the step up to 2m5f will suit today and the fact that Ludlow usually provides a decent surface will also be in his favour. He ought to be too strong for today’s 15 opponents.
Up at Sedgefield Realt Mor (1:10) ought to get off the mark at the second time of asking over fences, despite the drop in trip.
The seven-year-old jumped really well before coming down at the last at Wetherby on his debut a month ago and he is likely to be hard to peg back here, assuming his confidence hasn’t taken too much of a knock.
Nicky Richards, who saddled a winner at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day and a double at Ayr the following day, could have a smart young novice chaser on his hands here and it is hoped he gets his career back on track this afternoon.
Thursday’s selections:
1:10 Sedgefield Realt Mor
3:30 Ludlow Persian Snow
