Higgins 8/1 To Retain UK Title

Snooker’s 2011 UK Championship gets underway on Saturday with John Higgins 8/1 at Boylesports to retain his crown

The current world champion faces stiff competition from tournament favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan who can be backed at a best price 7/1 at Betfred. Ladbrokes are offering to refund all losing bets on their outrights market if world number one prevails.

Last year’s beaten finalist at York, Mark Williams is 8/1 at Skybet to go one better with Mark Selby 7/1 (Sportingbet) and Neil Robertson 9s (bet365).

Other contenders are likley to be Ding Junhui a 12/1 shot at Betfred and Shaun Murphy who can be backed at the same price at Paddy Power.

Boylesports, meanwhile are offering refunds on the outright winner if their 12/1 chance Judd Trump emerges victorious at the Barbican.
