Paul Ferguson has two selections from Navan for us on Sunday; Mount Benbulben at 13:05 and Don Cossack at 14:05. Compare odds.
It’s a big day for Gordon Elliott at Navan on Sunday, where the County Meath handler saddles a couple of youngsters who remain full of potential.
First up Mount Benbulben (1:05) is taken to supplement his recent course-and-distance success in the Grade 1 Navan Novice Hurdle.
The six-year-old beat a solid yardstick in Rebel Fitz when taking the Monksfield Novice Hurdle last time and that piece of form stands out here.
An hour later Don Cossack (2:05) can complete a big race double for the yard in the Grade 2 “Future Champions” bumper.
He created a deep impression when winning by upwards of 18 lengths at Naas in late October and, though the form has been knocked a couple of times since, it was impossible not to have been impressed with the manner of that success.
The four-year-old takes on some useful performers here who already have stronger form in the book, but he is a most exciting prospect and is taken to score under Nina Carberry.
