Despite a record breaking year, winning both the US & European money lists, Luke Donald is 50/1 with William Hill for the SPOTY award.
Fellow golfers Darren Clarke and Rory Mcllroy are 3/1 and 9/1 respectively. Hills offer 16/1 that Luke wins the first major of the year in 2012 but expect his wait to continue as Donald is 1/8 not to win a major next year.
“There can be little doubt that the golf vote is going to be split between the three players in the shortlist but considering what Luke has achieved this year 50/1 is a huge price,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
