Paul Ferguson takes one selection from Huntingdon on Thursday; Hit The Headlines in the 15.00 Compare odds.
Huntingdon stages a cracking renewal of the Peterborough Chase this afternoon and the supporting card isn’t bad either, in particular the 2m4f novices’ hurdle.
Paul Nicholls introduces a well touted Irish points winner in the shape of Italian Master and there are two interesting recruits from the Flat in the shape of Tuscan Gold and Bowdler’s Magic in the line-up, but Hit The Headlines (3:00) was impressive when winning a bumper here in January and can strike for Nicky Henderson.
The son of Flemensfirth disappointed on his only subsequent outing at Newbury, but he was described as a great big baby after winning here and it could be that it all came a bit soon for him.
Despite the form not working out particularly well, it was hard not to be impressed by the manner of his success on debut and he the looks the sort to come into his own over this sort of trip now he goes jumping.
