Live on SS1: Thu 08.00: Angus Loughran previews the season ending Dubai World Champs and puts up his bets.
Having done us a favour in Sun City, Lee Westwood can win again in this season’s finale at the Dubai World Championship and 5/1 (Totesport) is a very fair price.
Luke Donald (11/1, ) and Rory McIlroy (6/1, Sportingbet) are the obvious dangers with Donald bidding to become first golfer to win the Money list on both sides of the Atlantic. Donald needs to finish in top 9 if McIlroy wins so he is a strong favouite to do so with McIlroy playing on empty after a memorable season. These are 3 great players but Westwood is playing so well he is a deserved market leader.
Paul Casey has made the long journey from The West Coast of the USA and looks a decent each way bet at 18/1 with Paddy Power while Sergio Garcia, who could be the freshest in the field, is also worth including in this weeks portfolio at 14/1, courtesy of William Hill.
Of the big outsiders Thomas Bjorn at 100/1 (Ladbrokes) looks too big but it is Westwood, Garcia and Casey for me with Donald winning money list
Good luck
Angus Loughran
