Live on Skysports 1: Sat 20.00: Phil Taylor is 5/4 fav with Stan James to claim back his Grand Slam of Darts title from Scott Waites.
Taylor was denied 4th consecutive Grand Slam title last year as Scott Waites stepped up and claimed the title. The Power is 5/4 fav this year with Stan James & Coral to follow up his success in October’s Grand Prix by reclaiming his Grand Slam title.
Scott Waites is the automatic number 1 seed and the defending champion is 25/1 with Betfred to win. While it is unlikely he will prosper again (though he has made the last 2 finals here), he has had a fantastic 2011, winning the BDO British title and the World Masters event and there is no reason he can’t win his group (A) at 11/8 with Boylesports.
Gary Anderson could be Taylor’s main threat at 13/2 () and James Wade, last year’s runner-up, is 10/1 with Skybet though Wade has not had the best of year’s.
Adrian Lewis could be the bet this year. At 12/1 with Sportingbet, which makes him a decent 6/1 to make the final on the each-ways, Lewis is looking to build on a year full of near-misses and semi finals.
