Mon Parrain is now 4/1 at the head of the Paddy Power Gold Cup market, in from 5/1, with Betfred for Saturday’s race.
Mon Parrain went off favourite for the John Smith’s Topham Chase at Aintree on the back of an impressive debut in this country at Sandown back in March. He finished second behind Always Waining that day but has been favourite for the Paddy Power Gold Cup ever since the market was formed and looks set to be yet another big race favourite for the champion trainer.
“Mon Parrain has been the horse on everyone’s lips since the market for the Paddy Power Gold Cup was formed and it would take a huge gamble on one of the other runners to usurp Paul Nicholls’ gelding as favourite,” said Betfred boss Fred Done.
