Live on SS1: Thu 03.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai and picks his Selections:
Rory McIlroy heads the market at 5/1 with Betfred to win the WGC-HSBC and is a worthy market leader but looks short enough. I like Lee Westwood at 9/1 (Paddy Power) and think he will be hard to beat.
Westwood has been playing well without winning often enough but he has a big chance here after his 5th place in Shangai last week. He has twice finished runner up in his last 3 visits here, including last year when being denied by inspired Italian Francesco Molinari.
KJ Choi is my each way selection at 33/1 with Skybet having won the Players at Sawgrass in May, he knows how to handle the big pressure and I feel he has a far better chance than the odds suggest.
Simon Dyson can never be ruled out in Asia and is a tempting 50/1 each way wager with Boylesports to prove oddsmakers are wide of the mark with that quote.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
