Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Monday to start the week; Humungosaur in the 2.10 at Pontefract. Compare odds.
After a couple of encouraging runs in maidens Humungosaur (2:10) finished third in a Listed contest at Deauville and can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking at Pontefract on Monday.
On his second start, the Red Ransom colt finished fourth in a decent looking Newbury maiden, from which runner-up Firdaws has since won a Salisbury maiden and finished third in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile.
Paul Cole’s colt runs as though he will be suited by this step up in trip and the Racing Post Trophy entry sets a very good standard.
The selection is Cole’s sole runner on the card and the trainer has a fine record at the track with his juveniles in recent seasons, saddling 3 winners from 7 runners (43%) in the past five seasons.
Monday’s selection:
2:10 Pontefract Humungosaur
