Live on SS1 & 3: Thu 11.00 & 21.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Madrid Masters and Frys.com Open and picks his Selections:
Tiger Woods, who on Monday slipped out of World’s Top 50 for first tine in 15 years, is 6/1 (Ladbrokes) to make a winning return in this week’s Frys.com Open. I believe this is a great price in an event which Woods aside has no real strength in depth although one is clearly taking Tiger’s fitness on trust.
Of the outsiders Scott Piercy is a decent price at 40/1 with Coral – he is playing well and looks over the odds.
Luke Donald is 5/1 market leader with Sportingbet to defend his Madrid Masters and is clearly the man to beat.
I like the chances here of Italian youngster Matteo Manessero at 22/1 (Betfred) and Alvaro Quiros at 30/1 (Skybet) while Danny Willett at 50/1 () looks the pick of the outsiders.
With Donald and Woods both hot favourites this week a win double at general odds of 5/1 and 6/1 returns 41/1 – a huge return on what come Sunday night might seem such a obvious outcome.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
