In the Premiership, Leicester are 5/2 favs (Coral) to win the Grand Final and they go head to head with current champions Saracens (4/1, Betfred)
The new Premiership season kicks off just one week before the Rugby World Cup and it’s Leicester who are favourites for both the regular season crown, 5/2 with Ladbrokes, and Grand Final victory, 5/2 with Coral.
Saracens, defending champions after toppling Leicester in 2010/11, are 4/1 with Betfred to retain their Grand Final crown and with the World Cup starting on September 9th, this could be their chance to steal a march on the Tigers.
Leicester, who have not lost any top players over the summer, see a host of personnel head off to New Zealand for at least a month and this contrasts with Saracens’ surprising lack of absentees for the competition. This is surely the London club’s chance to get an early lead in the league season over Leicester as the Tigers will kncoking on the door for the regular season crown all year long. It’s tight, but backing Saracens for another title is our pick.
Beyond the big two, Northampton are 9/2 with Ladbrokes to snatch the Grand Final and Bath are 8/1 with Paddy Power, the Irish firm also making Bath evens to make the playoffs.
At the wrong end, new-boys Worcester are likely to find the going tough but it’s Newcastle that are the pick to come bottom, 13/8 with bet365, after 5 seasons of 9th or worse.
