Dream Ahead and Hoof It are the 9/2 joint-favourites with the sponsors for the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock on Saturday after a total of sixteen horses were left in at the final declaration stage.
The sole defector was Deacon Blues who had been expected to miss the race after scoping dirty following a workout on Wednesday morning. Bated Breath and Society Rock are next in the market at 13/2 with Delegator a 9/1 shot.
“This year’s renewal of the Betfred Sprint Cup has quality in abundance and consequently we can’t split July Cup hero Dream Ahead and Stewards’ Cup winner Hoof It at the head of the market,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Rainfall is the new 10/3 favourite (from 5/1) for the Listed Betfred “Goals Galore” Superior Mile after a total of nine runners were declared for the mile event this morning. First City and King Torus are the 4/1 joint-second favourites whilst Dark Promise is next in the market at 7/1.
Mark Johnston has won the Betfred Bundles Old Borough Cup three times in the last seven years and the Middleham handler has four horses declared for the 1m6f handicap, including current favourite Shernando who now heads the market outright at 7/1 (from 8/1).
The quartet of Blissful Moment, Activate, Tominator and Zuider Zee are next in the market at 8/1 whilst Deauville Flyer is just behind them in the betting at 9/1.
