Stan James make Wolves 11/4 to go down and it’s 20/1 with Paddy Power that Norwich and Swansea join them in the bottom three.
Before a ball has even been kicked in the new season, several teams are already conceding that survival for another top-flight campaign is their main aim. Nevertheless, three teams will lose that battle to stay up, in what is always an exciting scrap and it’s the newly promoted teams that are inevitably tipped to be in the most danger.
Of that trio, it’s Swansea that bookies believe are weakest, Skybet installing them as 4/7 relegation favourites while bet365 make Norwich 8/11 for the drop and Neil Warnock’s QPR are given a better shot at survival; they’re a slightly higher 7/4 with Partybets to go down.
Wigan follow in the relegation betting at 2/1 with William Hill and they are likely to struggle now that Charles N’Zogbia has left the DW Stadium, however, the best bet in that department, could be Wolves.
Mick McCarthy’s side stayed up by the skin of their teeth last term, their home form the key to survival but they will find it tough to replicate that level of performance at Molineux so unless they improve dramatically on the road, it could be a long, hard season for the Black Country outfit, rated at a tasty 11/4 by Stan James to be relegated.
For the ambitious, Wolves are also 10/1 (bet365) to finish bottom of the table and it’s an enticing 20/1 with Paddy Power for McCarthy’s charges, along with Norwich and Swansea, to relinquish their top-flight status.
Recommended Bets:
Wolves to be relegated – 11/4 (Stan James)
Wolves, Norwich and Swansea relegation treble – 20/1 (Paddy Power)
