With the Rugby World Cup only a matter of weeks away, home nations will be involved in a number of warm up matches in preparation for the main event in New Zealand and Coral bookmakers have seen a huge 50k bet.
England take on Wales at Twickenham on Saturday and Coral make the home side the 1-5 favourites. But surprisingly it’s a betting shop in Wales where one customer has placed a 50k bet (to win 10k) on the home side to win.
Coral make England the 11 point favourites on the handicap.
“Though it’s a friendly World Cup warm up, both teams will no doubt be looking for a win, and with the passion for their rugby so strong in Wales, it takes a brave person to walk into a local betting shop and back the opposition,” said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.
Scotland take on Ireland and Coral make the Irish slight favourites to win the game at 8-11. Scotland are 11-10 and have a two point start in the handicap betting.
