Paul Ferguson has two selections on Tuesday; Spirit Of Adjisa (2.00 Good) and Dancing Tornado (5.25 Galw). Compare odds and bet
From a purist point of view, the much-vaunted clash between Canford Cliffs and Frankel in this afternoon’s Sussex Stakes is without doubt the highlight on day two at Glorious Goodwood, though the opening Goodwood Stakes makes much more appeal from a punting point of view.
It’s 21 months since Spirit Of Adjisa (2:00) ran on the Flat but he has thrived over hurdles since and is worth supporting with Ryan Moore looking an eye-catching booking.
The winner of his last three over timber, including when landing a Grade 1 at Punchestown last time, the seven-year-old won over this trip at Market Rasen in February and looks sure to run a big race.
He was available at 5/1 and ¼ odds to 4 places with Bet365 and Ladbrokes overnight.
Over at Galway, TheTote.com Galway Plate looks ultra-competitive with a maximum field set to go to post. Blazing Tempo is one for any shortlist, as I expect Willie Mullins’ mare to run a big race, but at the prices Dancing Tornado (5:25) is worth a small each-way interest.
We haven’t seen Michael Hourigan’s 10-year-old over jumps since splitting Little Josh and subsequent King George and Gold Cup hero Long Run in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, but he warmed up for this on the Flat at Limerick last month.
He is the chosen mount of Tony McCoy, who could have ridden any of the JP McManus runners, and 14/1 seems fair. Please note Boylesports and Betfred are paying 5 places.
Wednesday’s selections:
2:00 Glorious Goodwood Spirit Of Adjisa (5/1 Ladbrokes, Bet365)
5:25 Galway Dancing Tornado (14/1 Boylesports / Betfred)
