Live on Skysports 1: Thu 10.00: Rory McIlroy is clear 6/1 fav (Ladbrokes) at the Irish Open, while Open winner Darren Clarke is 28/1 (Betfred)
Current US Open champion Rory McIlroy and Open champion Darren Clarke head to Killarney for the Irish Open in what will surely be jubilant scenes.
Rory McIlroy is well clear of the field as 6/1 fav with Ladbrokes while Darren Clarke is going for an Open double, he will surely attract bets at a pretty large 28/1 with Betfred. Fellow Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell, US Open winner from 2010, is 18/1 with Betdaq while exciting amateur Shane Lowry is 50’s with Blue Square.
Other challengers include Padraig Harrington, who is Sportingbet’s 20/1 chance, while defending champion Ross Fisher, England’s main challenger who missed the cut at The Open, is 25/1 with Ladbrokes.
Simon Dyson catches the eye at 28’s with Totesport. After a T25 in Scotland, he played very solidly at Royal St George to finish T9 and could be in with a good chance in Killarney.
