Amir Khan is now 7/4 with Ladbrokes to meet Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2012 following his win against Zab Judah on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury is 3/1 with Ladbrokes to face Wladimir Klitschko next. Following Fury’s points win over Chisora last night the bookies expect him to bide his time before taking on the Ukranian as it’s 2/9 his next fight is against any other boxer.
Fury’s win over Chisora was the first leg of a profitable night for the firm as a result of decent support pre-bout for the marginal favourite Chisora. Amir Khan’s victory was also welcome despite an £18,000 shop bet at 1/6 due to weight of money from smaller staking punters siding with Judah in-play and pre bout again.
Khan is now 7/4 to meet Mayweather Jr next year (2/5 not to) and should the fight go ahead the odds favour the American at 1/4. It’s 11/4 Khan wins the bout (bets void should the fight not take place).
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The British fight was a superb bout turnover-wise. Competitive betting along with a terrestrial broadcast at a favourable time gave turnover a shot in the arm and thankfully we were on the right side of it.”
he added: “Both Brits now face potentially the toughest test of their careers to date next. The odds suggest we’ll see Mayweather – Khan first.”
