Thoman Bjorn and Miguel Angel Jimenez were the big betting movers after the first round of the Open Championship at Royal St George’s.
Bjorn defied the conditions to card an impressive 65 and was subsequently cut from 125/1 to 14/1 by Boylesports while the same firm make Jimenez 20/1 after he hit 66 to lie a stroke off the lead on four under par.
Pre-tournament favourite Rory McIlroy could only manage a one over par 71 but bookies believe he is still well in contention at just six shots off the lead, so the US Open champ remains at the head of the market at 12/1 (Stan James).
Elsewhere, world number one Luke Donald also shot 71 and is now 16/1 with , Betfred post identical odds against Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell has been cut to 25/1 by Ladbrokes having registered a two under par 68.
American Lucas Glover meanwhile, lies just one shot behind Bjorn after a 66 and has subsequently been slashed to 28/1 by Coral.
