The Real Article failed to prove the ‘handicap snip’ in yesterday’s Galway Hurdle so the bookies are likely to be out to get Green Destiny (3:10) who is another ahead of the assessor in today’s Totesport Mile, the feature on the penultimate day at Glorious Goodwood.
The four-year-old is officially 8lb ‘well in’ as the handicapper has him on a mark of 109, but he runs off 101 this afternoon, which includes the 3lb penalty he incurs for his success in York’s John Smith’s Cup.
William Haggas’ gelding was hugely impressive that day and runner-up Modun ran well in defeat here earlier in the week. His form is rock solid, with the only negative the drop back in trip.
If he fails to hold an early position, the selection could be in trouble as he was at Royal Ascot, but the positives outweigh the negatives and he is worth supporting at 3/1.
Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes have again enjoyed a fine week at the Glorious meeting and they unleash one their major hopes for the week in the shape of Harbour Watch (3:45) in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes.
The Acclamation colt followed up his Salisbury maiden success by beating Burwaaz impressively in a conditions event at Newmarket earlier in the month and the runner-up franked the form by finishing second in the Molecomb Stakes earlier in the week.
He was trading at 10/11 with Boylesports on Thursday evening.
