Live on Skysports 1: Fri 10.30: England are 13/10 (Totesport) to take the 2nd Test against India in Nottingham and go 2-0 in the series.
Andrew Strauss praised an “outstanding bowling performance” in the 1st Test as England beat India to go 1-0 in the series of 4 Tests.
England will want Broad, Anderson et al to be on similar form as they head to Trent Bridge as 13/10 favs with Totesport, while India are bet365’s 4/1 outsiders to level the series.
India are sweating on the fitness of Zaheer Khan for Friday and without him their bowling line-up will take a big hit. The 13/10 about England will look very attractive should he not play.
It’s likely to be a straight battle between Broad and Anderson to grab the most wickets for the hosts (following a 7-all draw in the 1st Test) and it’s the rejuvenated Stuart Broad can come out on top; Skybet pricing him at 4/1 to take the most wickets for England this time.
In terms of batting, India and England both go deep down the order and it’s difficult to pick out a performer. Eoin Morgan is due a good knock, he is 10/1 (Ladbrokes), while to performer Matt Prior is an even bigger 12/1 with Blue Square. Kevin Pietersen is 4/1 (Betfred) to recreate his heroics but preference goes to Ian Bell to get it together on the Nottingham track and crack a top score at 6/1 (William Hill).
Sachin Tendulkar will play for the visitors and at 11/2 with Paddy Power to top score, could be a very good punt.
Overall, this should be England’s Test. The draw looms fairly ominously at 7/4 (Betdaq) with a few bits of rain predicted for Monday and Tuesday but we all saw how that didn’t materialise at Lord’s. England are just 1/3 with Stan James to win the series now and 9/2 with the same firm to take a solid 3-0 series win. Coral have 11/2 about a 2-1 win, India getting one consolatory win.
