Live on Skysports 1: Wed 14.00: England are 10/11 with Ladbrokes to win the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka in Nottingham and level the series.
After two rather humbling defeats in 3 days, England must win in Nottingham on Wednesday to level the ODI series at 2 games a piece and set up an exciting decider in Manchester. Bet365 currently make England 12/5 to win the series 3-2.
England come in as Ladbrokes’ 5/6 favs to do just that while Sri Lanka, powered by the formidable Mahela Jayawardene, are Paddy Power’s 11/10 ‘outsiders’.
It’s quite difficult to believe Sri Lanka can be considered outsiders after 2 comprehensive wins but England are quite close to getting it together. Some players are just not scoring enough and some bowlers are not getting it quite right but if they can pull it together a bit, England should be a good position to win.
Alastair Cook is Totesport’s 7/2 fav to top score for England while Craig Kieswetter is 5/1 with 888sport. Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen seem out of sorts so Jon Trott and Eoin Morgan have to give it some extra; bet365 making the pair 4/1 and 13/2 to top score.
For Sri Lanka, it’s hard to see past Jayawardene in the form he is in; Coral going 10/3 for him to hit the biggest knock for the tourists while Dilshan is 4/1 with Betfred to get it together and hit a top score.
It’s tempting to side with Sri Lanka but England could have what it takes to pull it together a touch, level the series and set things up nicely for Manchester’s decider on Saturday.
