Live on ESPN: Tues 23.15: Chile are 4/5 with Stan James to secure top spot in Group C by winning their Copa America clash against Peru.
Chile and Peru have both qualified for the quarter final of the Copa America so their clash in Mendoza is merely to decide where each side finishes in Group C and who they will subsequently face in the last eight. It’s not quite a dead rubber then but it’s fair to assume that both sides will have half an eye on their impending knockout fixtures so a fairly low-key encounter could be on the cards.
The defensively dogged Peruvians, Boylesports’ 9/2 outsiders, will hope to keep things tight but they come up against an attacking opponent in Chile, who have the quality to break them down and Claudio Borghi’s side deserve to be favourites at 4/5 with Stan James.
It’s a clash that should nevertheless produce fewer than 2.5 goals (8/13, ) and bwin make Chile 21/4 to grab the only one. However, if that’s a touch specific, it’s worth considering Paddy Power’s 17/10 for Borghi’s charges to win ‘to nil’ as an alternative.
Meanwhile, Barcelona-bound Alexis Sanchez, who grabbed Chile’s leveller against Uruguay is a tasty 2/1 with Paddy Power, to find the net at any time in this game.
