Racing guru Charlie McCann fancies the chances of Blue Bunting in the Irish Oaks, especially as an each way chance at 9/2
There is classic action from the Curragh on Sunday with the Irish Oaks and after Aidan O’Brien’s 1-2-3 in the colts’ equivalent it may appear folly to oppose his Epsom runner up Wonder Of Wonders. Blue Bunting (3.45) didn’t get the best of rides from Frankie Dettori in the Oaks last month, however, and she can reverse the form with the 1-2 Dancing Rain & Wonder Of Wonders.
Dancing Rain made all and had the run of the race at Epsom and I would be surprised if she were to confirm the form with the placed horses; Wonder Of Wonders (4/5) is the short-priced jolly but at 9/2 Blue Bunting is a cracking each way bet given this stiffer test should play to her strengths.
Winner of the Guineas back in the spring Blue Bunting is taken to land her second classic of the year.
