With less than a week to go before the eagerly awaited heavyweight clash, Coral bookmakers have seen plenty of money for David Haye and have trimmed the price of him defeating Wladimir Klitschko to 5-4 (from 6-4). The Ukranian is 8-13 with the draw privced at 40-1.
The fight is expected to be the biggest betting turnover bout since Ricky Hatton fought Floyd Mayweather Jr in December 2007.
“Not since the Lennox Lewis – Evander Holyfield fights of 1999 has a heavyweight contest attracted so much betting interest, and if the money we have in the book already is an early indicator, it will be a win for Haye,” said Coral spokeman Gary Burton.
Klitschko is 5-4 to win by KO and 4-1 to win on points. Haye is 8-1 for a points win and 7-4 for a stoppage.
