Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Starlight Walk runs this evening in the (7.35, Warwick) at Newmarket. Compare odds.
A fairly quiet start to the weekend on Friday and the pick of the action from Newmarket’s evening meeting is an interesting 1m5f handicap for three-year-olds.
Man Of God, who I put up at Haydock last time, should relish the step up in trip but the application of blinkers at such an early stage is discouraging to say the least, while Cunning Act got the better of Sunday’s winner Stagecoach Danman last time and is going the right way.
Both may struggle, however, to concede weight to handicap debutant Starlight Walk (7:35) who ran a fine race in second at Leicester last time and looks as though this sort of trip will bring about further improvement.
Ryan Moore is an interesting booking for The Queen’s Galileo filly, as the former champion jockey has a 25% strike-rate aboard Roger Charlton three-year-olds in the past five seasons.
Friday’s selection:
7:35 Newmarket Starlight Walk
