Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Carlton House in the Irish Derby at 3.50 at The Curragh. Compare odds.
The fairytale success that many hoped for at Epsom didn’t materialise, but Carlton House (3:50) can gain compensation by landing the Irish Derby at the Curragh this afternoon for The Queen.
Sir Michael Stoute’s impressive Dante winner didn’t enjoy a smooth build up to the Epsom Derby and even during the race things didn’t appear to go his way.
Having enjoyed a better preparation, the son of Street Cry can reverse form with Derby runner-up Treasure Beach. The easier ground is also in his favour, as he won his maiden on easy ground at Newbury last year and it was good when he beat another of today’s rivals, Seville, in the Dante at York.
Sunday’s selection:
3:50 Curragh: Carlton House
