Overturn The Plate Fav

William Hill make Overturn their 11/2 favourite for the John Smith’s Northumberland Plate, to be run at Newcastle on Saturday.

The seven-year-old is top of the weights (9-10) but has a very favourable draw in stall two and Donald McCain’s charge is attempting a second successive victory in the Heritage Handicap. Overturn and Activate were pretty even in the betting until the stalls were drawn.

Since the betting opened, good support has come in for Activate, who is currently the 7/1 joint 2nd fav (along with Harlestone Times) at Ladbrokes but Activate will be jumping from well wide, stall 18 of 20.

Investissement is Coral’s 9/1 shot behind those three while bet365 have put 12/1 on both Deauville Flyer and Tactician.
