Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Midday3.35 The Curragh and Kiama Bay, 5.30 Chester. Compare odds.
Henry Cecil’s top-class mare Midday (3:35) gave last year’s dual Oaks heroine Snow Fairy 10lbs and a 3 length beating in last year’s Yorkshire Oaks and is fancied to confirm the form this afternoon at the Curragh in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes.
The trip is more in favour of the selection this afternoon, they meet on level terms this time around and, with a fitness advantage, it will be disappointing if she can’t uphold the form following two fine runs this season.
At Chester the improving Kiama Bay (5:30) is fancied to land the concluding Cruise Nightspot Handicap and complete the hat-trick for trainer John Quinn.
The five-year-old has soft ground form to his name, goes well fresh and has presumably been aimed at this contest for some time, as his owner Dr Marwan Koukash loves to have winners on the Roodee.
