Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday; Tlaad in the (5.40) at Ripon, trained by Clive Brittain. Compare odds
Pretty moderate stuff all-round on Tuesday and, though he finished last of six on his recent racecourse debut at Chester, Tlaad (5:40) is taken to land the closing maiden at Ripon and get off the mark at the second time of asking.
Clive Brittain chucked his Kingmambo colt in at the deep-end first time, allowing him to take his chance in the Group 3 Dee Stakes, and this is represents a big drop in class.
Philip Robinson’s mount still holds an entry in the Group 1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and, if connections are seriously considering a tilt at that contest, he needs to be winning a very ordinary looking midweek maiden.
Given the lack of strength in depth in this contest, the tissue odds against appeals as a bit of value about this clearly well-regarded individual.
Tuesday’s selection:
5:40 Ripon Tlaad
