Carlos Tevez is now odds-on (4/9) to stay at Manchester City according to Ladbrokes and 10/11 to be Premier League top scorer.
Immediately after City’s cup win, the bookies made Tevez a 4/9 chance to leave the club but a swing in the odds indicates he may now stay. It’s 13/8 Tevez has left the club in time for City’s first league fixture next season.
Kaka has also played down talk of a move to the Premier League and is 2/5 to still be a Real Madrid player by the time they start their La Liga campaign. Should he move, Chelsea and Manchester City are the joint 5/1 second favourites for his signature with United 20/1 chances.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The two biggest transfer sagas of the summer look like winding up already. Both players are now odds-on to stay but it’s still early and a lot could change in the coming months.”
Tevez is also the 10/11 second favourite to be this season’s top goalscorer behind Dimitar Berbatov at 4/5.
Donohue added: “The top scorer betting looks wide open with opportunities for both strikers on the final day. We’re definitely cheering Tevez as Berbatov was well backed both ante-post and in running.”
