Paul Ferguson fancies the chances of Look At Me (3:20 The Curragh) at 2/1 Boylesports on Monday
Though it’s a Bank Holiday and we’ve got no fewer than eight meetings in England and Ireland, there’s no need to go crazy at the start of a week that sees Chester’s May meeting and the Punchestown Festival take centre stage in the coming days.
With that in mind, the day’s sole selection comes in the Group 3 Athasi Stakes at the Curragh and in the shape of Look At Me (3:20). 2/1 Boylesports
Aidan O’Brien’s Danehill Dancer filly takes on her elders here, though that shouldn’t be an issue with seven three-year-olds winning this contest in the past decade, and she looked a smart juvenile last term.
Out of Queen Cleopatra, who was a full sister to Henrythenavigator, she was an impressive winner on her racecourse debut at Fairyhouse last September and then chased home Havant in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket the following month.
The selection didn’t appear at home on the undulating track yet still ran well, whilst the third home franked the form by winning both the UAE Oaks and Derby. The winner also shaped well in the 1,000 Guineas yesterday.
Look At Me holds entries in all the major races and can kick-start what could be a fine season this afternoon.
Monday’s selection:
3:20 Curragh: Look At Me; 2/1 Boylesports
