Live on Skysports 1: Thu 10.00: England are 21/20 (Paddy Power) to begin their test series with Sri Lanka with a win in Cardiff.
Sri Lanka have been warming up against Middlesex and England Lions and have recorded a couple of wins though a reasonable Lions side pushed them pretty close.
Sri Lanka go into the 1st Test of the 3 Test tour as rather large 5/1 outsiders (Sportingbet) but if England can recreate any of their Ashes form, outsiders they should stay. The draw is an ominous 7/4 (Coral).
Pakistan and Australia have suffered in test games in England over the last 2 years and the home side are building up a good solid reputation on home soil. Dilshan, Sangakkara, Jayawardene and co will have to be on top form for the visitors, especially considering their poor away form in recent years.
The weather forecast is not so great for South Wales, scattered showers pushing punters into Coral’s 7/4 for the draw but if Anderson, Broad and Swann can all take advantage of muggy conditions, an England win is worth considering.
